Gregory Douglass, The Creative Advisor
As creative people, we all want the same thing, right? We want to create. It’s our passion and it’s undeniable. So how do we do what we love and make a successful living at it? How do we live the dream? I launched TheCreativeAdvisor.com to help answer these very questions. It’s full of creative advice for working musicians to fast-track their careers. Advice that really works because it’s been tested and proven by hard-working indie artists like myself.
So who am I and why on earth should you listen to me? I’m an internationally renowned independent singer/songwriter with eight self-released critically acclaimed albums under my belt. I founded my own record label, Emote Records, in 2001, and have single-handedly raised up to six figures in campaign funding to finance my music over the years. Instinct Magazine said that my evocative, alternative sound “channels everyone from Stevie Wonder to Fiona Apple in a way that’s terrifyingly mature for someone so young,” back in 2006, while NPR’s Morning Edition coined me “one of New England’s best-kept secrets” in 2011. I’ve shared the stage with artists like Jason Mraz, Regina Spektor, Shawn Colvin, Grace Potter, They Might Be Giants and Margaret Cho, to name a few, and I’ve even starred in a TV show with Jersey Shore’s “The Situation,” believe it or not (lol). You can check out my music and videos for yourself at any of the following links:
